Debt Mediators Help You with Your Debt Problems
Article: Getting out of debt
Your income.
First let's look at your income.
Small business owner.
The buck really stops with you.
You should be getting good advice from a number of professionals, but make sure you are getting the right advice from the right people. Your accountant may have good advice about accounting and tax matters, but is that the right source of advice about investment or staff matters? Seek out those who have had real experience or are involved with others in a similar situation and can pass on effective and successful ways to overcome problems and suggest methods to profitably increase business and/or your bottom line.
EVALUATE YOUR ADVERTISING.
If you advertise, it is crucial that you spend your advertising money where it is most effective. Again, get the right advice if you can find it. Test different ways of advertising and most importantly measure the result. Go with the most effective advertising, but don't stop testing.
If you are feeling stumped by where to find advice, here are a few suggestions.
- Become involved in your trade or professional association. You may not feel comfortable there, but it's not comfort that you are looking for. Chances are you'll find more rewards then a few words of advice.
- Contrary to what you may believe, the government would like you to succeed - they want your taxes!! There are many government initiatives to help small business. These range from a great deal of literature, free and low cost seminars on business management and development, through to subsidized individual business development programs. Look through the government sections of the telephone book or on the 'net to find the business development department. Seminars and activities are often advertised in the local papers.
- Read! There will be little that you have experienced that others haven't already faced and overcome - and quite likely someone has written about it. Have a look in a bookshop - there is usually a well stocked section on business development and success including how to overcome debt problems. Find a senior sales assistant that can help you find a good book that may help. Use the library. Your rates and taxes fund it so make good use of it. A librarian will be sure to help and probably pleased you asked.
Once again, go with the advice that YOU consider right for you. Remember, the buck stops with you.
